What is it?
A Starry Night Ceiling is a one off piece of artwork that creates a realistic starry night sky on your ceiling creating the illusion that your ceiling has disappeared, leaving you sleeping beneath a blanket of stars

How does it work?
A photo-luminescent material in a special binder is applied to your ceiling. This crystallised product soaks up invisible ultra-violet (UV) light from daylight and artificial light to then release that energy as visible light for over a period of time.

What happens?
Once you turn off the lights and the room is in darkness, the wonder of your Starry Night Ceiling happens. As your eyes adjust to the dark the stars will appear as if by magic, take a closer look and you will notice some well known constellations such as the plough and the little dipper. Shooting stars will seem to glide past you and you can easily loose yourself in the dreamy nebula above you.

Is the paint used completely safe and non-toxic?

Yes, unlike some of the older types of luminous paints this is next generation all new technology paint that is not only 100% safe but also 10 times more affective and longer lasting than anything before.

I have an Artex ceiling, is this a problem?
Not a problem, Starry Night Ceilings can be created on almost any surface including all artex and wallpaper.

Will you have to paint my ceiling black?
No, Your Starry Night Ceiling works best the lighter the background. Once you turn your lights of at night, your ceiling will automatically give the dark backdrop for your night sky.

Will it interfere with my existing décor?
Your Starry Night Ceiling will be virtually invisible during the daytime. On close inspection you may notice parts of the effect as the paint used has a slight yellowish tint.

How dark does the room have to be?
The darker the room, the better. If necessary a black light can be used to enhance the affect and is great for children’s sleepover parties as it gives the ‘WOW’ factor and brings out all the colours of your night sky.

How long will it last?
The new technology paints used by Starry Night Ceilings have a minimum active lifespan of 10 years with up to a possible 20 years!

Should I have my Starry Night Ceiling done before I re-decorate?
If you are thinking of freshening up your ceiling with a coat of paint, it is best to do so before your Starry Night Ceiling is applied. If you wish to have a theme placed on your walls, again it is advised you apply your paint/wallpaper before your artwork is done.

Could you tell me more about your themes?
Most themes are for a child’s bedroom, placed on the wall so they have their glow in the dark friends with them at bedtime. Your child will not be so hesitant to go to bed anymore, they will be begging to go! The zodiac theme is more for the adults, all 12 Zodiac star signs included in your night sky giving an incredible 3D affect.

Will I be able to see all the major constellations of the night sky?
Yes, you will be given a star constellation sheet so you can lie back and navigate your way through the night sky. You can even have your own lucky birth sign above your bed.

Can I watch while my Starry Night Ceiling is being done?
Nope, It’s all top secret! Once your artist has set to work, the door remains closed, no peeking allowed!

How long will it take to do my ceiling and will it have to be done at night?
Depending on the size of the room it may take between 2 to 4 hours and can be done any time of the day, during the week or weekend, whenever is most convenient to you.
 

What is the difference between a Starry Night Ceiling and glow in the dark paint or the stick on glow in the dark stars?
The difference is astronomical!
The luminous substance in most off-the-shell products lasts for just a few minuets and the brilliance is far less. If you have the image of stick on stars in your mind then your Starry Night Ceiling will by far surpass your expectations, you had best prepare yourself to be amazed!

What if I no longer want my Starry Night Ceiling?
A couple of coats of good quality paint over your ceiling will do the trick
